2nd Baby Born to Polygamist Sect Woman in Custody

A second young woman from the West Texas polygamist sect gave birth to a baby boy on Monday morning.

The young woman and another, who gave birth to a boy on April 29, are both believed to be under the age of 18. A spokesman for the FLDS church says they are, however, 22. They are "disputed" minors, meaning they are girls who claimed to be adults and then later told CPS they weren't.

Not long after the baby was born Monday, it was taken from the mother by CPS, as was the baby born a couple weeks ago. The first baby is already in state custody.

The parents of the 464 children in foster care are challenging the state's ruling before the Third Court of Appeals and a district court in Travis County.
